Anti-spam word
From CaseyPedia
An anti-spam word (ASW) is an obfuscated security code ("captcha") used on IAFF to prevent automated comment spam.
The anti-spam words used on IAFF used to be generic. In February 2007 Casey Serin, acting on an uncredited idea suggested by his haterz, changed them to a short list of popular IAFF catchphrases.[1][2]
Enterprising haterz on Exurban Nation soon assembled the full list:[3][4]
- awesome
- juice
- juicy
- sweet
- loose
- deals
- millions
- winwin
- success
- cashback
- equity
- sweet
- itsallgood
- letsdoit
- signhere
- leverage
- sweet
One can only assume that the multiple occurrences of "sweet" are an example of Casey's mad IT skillz.
Casey later expanded the anti-spam wordlist; the list reported in April 2007 was:[5]
- awesome
- juice
- juicy
- sweet
- loose
- deals
- millions
- winwin
- success
- cashback
- equity
- sweet
- itsallgood
- letsdoit
- signhere
- leverage
- organic
- gold
- silver
- credit
- corporation
- whatdebt
- cashcall
- wheatgrass
- fresh
- squeeze
- looser
- jetta
- vdubs
- cashflow
- sacramento
- fixnflip
- flipper
- mogul
- investor
- passive
- manbag
- donation
- stated
- craziness
- thingy
- blueball
- blueball
- blueball
- blueball
- failforward
- semivegan
- sweet
For a short while in April, IAFF reportedly carried a handful of anti-spam words -- "pregnancy", "zygote" -- leading to speculation on a possible imminent announcement of Casey Jr.[6][7][8][9][10]. This was almost certainly a troll by Casey.
Haterz commenting on IAFF often name the anti-spam word at the bottom of their comment, for example "ASW: juicy", especially if it is particularly apposite to the comment.
The custom anti-spam words tend to confuse newbies, who often believe that the anti-spam word they're given is picked from a dictionary and so get very excited when a Caseyesque term is presented to them.
