Bouncing on the blue ball is a common displacement activity enjoyed by Casey Serin when he lacks the focus for real work.

After an artfully-staged photograph on IAFF[1] revealed the existence of Casey's blue ball, bouncing on the blue ball became a running joke in IAFF's comments. The phrase is typically used to describe Casey's office activities, which also include "organizing" and, occasionally, opening mail"[2]; it also hints at Casey's childlike naïveté.

Casey also enjoys bouncing in other contexts, including his parent's trampoline.[3]
