Comment moderation

Comment moderation is the process by which comments formerly posted to IAFF, and currently posted to FHB are released for public view by our favorite failing-forward fix-n-flopper.

Historically comment moderation times, the interval between a comment being posted and it appearing on IAFF, have ranged between 18 and 48 hours. The cause of this delay is unknown, although Casey's busy nap schedule may be a factor. FHB comment moderation times are similarly delayed. Casey has claimed that he puts a lot of time into comment moderation, and that use of a PDA-phone allows him to moderate comments while on the toilet. Allegedly, after Casey had spent an hour pooping wheatgrass, his soon-to-be-ex-wife was tasked with what she did best -- cleaning the toilet.

Recognizing the deadening effect this had on conversation at IAFF -- an alternating pattern of long comment-free droughts followed deluges of substantially-similar comments -- Casey at one point introduced instant commenting for trusted, respectful, registered users at IAFF. This improved interactivity at IAFF. However, many commenters are unregistered and so are still subject to moderation delays.
