Gold Medallion Homes
From CaseyPedia
Gold Medallion Homes is a Salt Lake City developer of "luxury" homes.
Pleather-clad Utah mortgage broker Nigel Swaby is allegedly associated with Gold Medallion Homes.[1] Gold Medallion's blogs[2] certainly share a dead-handed writing style with Swaby's blog SLCRE. In June 2007, Swaby posted an article to SLCRE in which he mentioned his "mortgage boss", Byron Goates, and also a different "home builder boss".[3]
During Casey Serin's March 2007 trip to Utah,[4] Swaby showed Serin and then-anonymous "money partner G" a new Gold Medallion Home.[5] Many haterz speculated that the dynamic duo were seeking to make a sweet deal; however, Swaby later explained that this was simply a photo opportunity:
- I wanted to go through Suncrest because the builder I work for had some inventory homes for sale that could be used for a photo op. I was not trying to sell either Casey or G a house. I was simply trying to give them an idea of what the price for the location was. Plus Suncrest sits atop South Mountain and it was a clear day with wonderful views.[6]
and made it clear that he did not conduct any business with them:
- I did not conduct any real estate business with either one of them and I did not refer anyone I knew to conduct business with them.[7]
However, Serin and Swaby did share a tender semi-vegan interlude at the Macaroni Grill.[8] Swaby went on to drink Serin's juice,[9] which he later reported as "actually really good with a sweet (sugary), not to be confused with sweeeet, afterburn."[10]
