Guru

Guru used to mean an esteemed teacher of (usually) spiritual values and practices. In some languages it still means teacher (for example Bahasa Indonesia). However in English the word Guru is often now used in a more sarcastic, cynical manner in order to indicate the public's general distrust of self proclaimed gurus.

Hence today a guru is often an entrepreneur who has discovered that talking about a given field of endeavor is more profitable than actually engaging in it. Frequently, the appearance of gurus on the scene indicates that the opportunity they are talking about is about to be exhausted.

In addition to real estate gurus, gurus also frequently specialize in opportunities related to stock market investing, working from home, ownership of gold and other precious metals, corporate credit creation, and even getting free money from the government.

Many haterz™ have speculated that Casey is aiming to become a foreclosure guru, especially as he has failed at avoiding foreclosure - the perfect qualification for a guru. With the outing of The Foreclosure Code this speculation has proved to be remarkably prescient.
