iamfacingforeclosure.com (commonly abbreviated to IAFF) was Casey Serin's blog.

The blog was started by Serin in early September 2006, in what seemed to many people to be an honest attempt to deal with the enormous problem of being in possession of eight properties facing foreclosure. Compounding the problem was the fact that all eight properties were illegally obtained through various mortgage fraud schemes. Since then, the blog has developed into what can only be called a controversial web presence, with individual posts generally attracting hundreds of strongly negative comments. Serin attempted to monetize his blog by using Google Ads. He was soon banned for click fraud, which he blamed on the Haterz™. However, it appears that the click fraud was coming from a botnet specifically designed to click on his ads.[1] Later, Yahoo! ads returned as well as ContentLink mouse-over ads plus private sponsors, but it appears that the Yahoo! ads have once again been replaced by Google ads. However, the same day that Serin annouced more sweet links, Yahoo! ads were all but gone. The following day, after adding some more comments, the Yahoo! ads were gone, spelling an end to his best chance at passive income.

As of mid-2007, the blog is no longer aptly named, since Serin faced foreclosure -- and predictably lost. Furthermore, the blog is no longer under Serin's control - it was sold to Aaron Krowne in July 2007.

[edit] Server Woes

Although IAFF was a fairly well-known website, it did not attract excessive amounts of traffic. As of May 18, 2007, the blog was averaging around 15,000 visits a day. Nevertheless IAFF was constantly plagued by server problems due to resource overusage by the site software. The frequent disappearances of IAFF was politely referred to as "intermittent reachability".

During the lifetime of the blog, many posts seemed to vanish temporarily on a regular basis, with the sever returning a "Page not found" error message. The reasons behind this remained unclear, although part of it was attributed to the fact that Serin is not a details guy.

On May 30th, 2007, IAFF appeared to go blank. It was speculated that this is deliberate, as the server was working and some URLs associated with the WordPress software were still in place. It is not known whether this was the result of attempting to apply a new WordPress theme to the site called "Snowflake".

On May 31st, around 9am PST a message appeared on the previously blank IAFF main page saying:

IamFacingForeclosure.com is over. It will never return.
Advertisers: Feel free to cancel your PayPal subscription. I will be issuing pro-rated refunds this week.
Everybody: I'm very sorry to end like this.
You may contact me here.
-- Casey Serin

It later became clear that Serin had removed IAFF after breaching an agreement he had earlier made with his wife Galina.

After a number of revisions, the site once again went totally blank on June 1st.

On June 6th 2007 IAFF was revived by Serin with a new post, Never Say Never: I am Facing Foreclosure is Back! Most of the existing content, with the exception of some posts discussing his family and marriage, was reinstated.

This marks at least the second time* he has purposely shuttered the blog, only to revive it.

On Sept 24, 2006, he wrote an email, "What I did was Stupid!" which included "This blog was the WRONG kind of exposure. I APOLOGIZE...I DO NOT BLAME ANYBODY... and take full responsibility....After talking to a business associate this morning I realized I went TOO far...I turned something small into a big exaggerated mess... I crossed the line. I misused my ambition. I have damaged my reputation and I have damaged many good relationships through this. I never meant to hurt anyone. So to stop any further damage I am shutting down and laying low. I am sorry. Casey Serin."

[edit] The End of IAFF

On July 11th, 2007, Casey claimed that he would shut down the blog permanently on August 3rd.[2] On July 25th, 2007, ownership of the IAFF domain name was transferred to Aaron Krowne, who reportedly paid $50,000 for the domain name.

[edit] The Other End of IAFF

On March 29th, 2009, prominent Haterz™ lawnmower man noted that Krowne had placed the IAFF domain up for sale. The asking price was $10,000; it is doubtful that Krowne made enough from the site in his 20-month ownership to cover the (at minimum) $40,000 loss from the price originally paid to Casey.

[edit] Post-IAFF Blogs

Casey promised family and friends that his blogging days were over and that he would settle down and procure a job making at least $1,000 per week.

After two months of silence, Casey returned to the Internet in early October 2007. Teaming up with real estate mogul Damion Lupo, Casey was the dumber half of ForeclosureHelpBook.com, a website aimed at "helping" people facing foreclosure. By the end of October 2007, however, Damion had been the latest business partner thrown under the bus.

After a short silence, Casey returned online with yet another blog, EscapeMyHouse.com. This site lasted for two weeks before Casey took the site and all of its posts offline.

Most recently, Casey tried his luck with Truecasey.com, a bizarre mix of rehashed baiting, GSPG stock pumping, and conspiracy theories. It lasted from early August until late October, 2008.
