In the comments, IAFF buckles under the load as the CNET article Casey Serin: The world's most hated blogger? is published. Casey attempts to move IAFF to a new, dedicated server and runs into problems:

Crap… something is going on with the DNS. [...] My new dedicated server is giving me issues too….

He battles on:

I have to disable the comments again until the transfer to the dedicated box is complete. This is the worst time to be doing this (with the CNet article that came out today) but it will solve the downtimes I’ve had in the past.

It won't; IAFF remains intermittently reachable for the rest of the day.
