"It's Not A Fart" is a Caseyism used by the Haterz™ to ridicule fraudster Casey Serin.

The phrase originated in a posting on TrueCasey. Notorious troll Tavington emailed Casey announcing that he was going to follow his lead in performing a "Master Cleanse." Casey took the troll bait and posted a lengthly exploration of his own experiences with the "cleanse."^[1]

About one third of the way through his dimwitted and medically-uninformed screed, Casey noted:

About 15 to 30 minutes after drinking the salt water you may experience an urge to fart.

IT’S NOT A FART!!

To the great dismay of most readers, Casey elaborated further:

I made that mistake… Good thing I only had to throw away my underwear. My pants didn’t get too stained.

Go straight to the bathroom and prepare for a new kind of sensation - water coming out of your butt together with solid material. Kind of like peeing out of your butt. (Sorry to get graphic, just want to prepare you.)

Stay close to the bathroom. You will probably have 2 to 5 different “runs”. Once you’re done with the last run you’ll be ok the rest of the day.

Casey never detailed what happened to the pants that "didn't get too stained." Haterz have noted that Casey steadfastly refuses to do his own laundry or any other domestic chores, and speculate that cleaning up from the results of the "cleanse" probably fell to his mother.

The phrase "It's not a fart" rapidly became a catchphrase amongst Haterz™, used primarily to make fun of all things Casey. The first known use took place on CHC on Ocotber 4, 2008. Sharky posted a comment about Casey's "30-Day Sink-or-Swim" initiative stating that:

Hey kid. You sank over a year ago. You've been living in an air-pocket inside the hull, and your air is running out.

My recommendation is to stop farting.^[2]

BelowTheCrowd responded almost immediately:

IT’S NOT A FART!!

Since that time, "It's not a fart!" has become a common refrain amongst Haterz™. Several Haterz™-created images have also used the phrase, including BadjerJim's CHC avatar, which combines it with the cover image of I Survived Foreclosure.

[edit] In Seventeen Languages...

On October 13-14, 2008, Hater allthingsgood attempted to have the phrase translated into sixteen languages in addition to English. It is unclear why he chose a total of seventeen as the appropriate number of languages to shoot for. CHC members were able to come up with eleven translations^[3], yielding a 70.5% success rate for the project.
