John C. Maxwell (born 1947) is a personal-development guru, "an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and author"[1].

Maxwell is the author of the book Failing Forward. Casey has adopted the philosophy of failing forward wholescale; it gives justification to his many failings. There can be no success without failure. So far, half good.
