Lake Tahoe is a popular resort which straddles the border of California and Nevada. The presence of many casinos on the Nevada side make it a popular location for failed real estate developers wishing to raise short-term capital, possibly leveraged using corporate credit of doubtful legality.

Casey Serin is a regular visitor to Lake Tahoe, and even lived there[citation needed] at one time while trying (and subsequently having 0% success) to make his way as an independent web developer.

Lake Tahoe figured into the Serin saga once again in early May 2007, when Serin drove there with the ostensible purpose of taking a nice, long, satisfying braindump.[1]
