A mentor is an experienced expert who provides guidance and training to aspiring beginners in his field of expertise.

Star Wars fans may think of Obi-Wan Kenobi or Yoda as mentors to Luke Skywalker. Then they may imagine how differently the saga would have played out had Luke exhibited the basic ineptitude for his chosen path that Casey shows for his.

Mentorship has some similarities to apprenticeship or internship; the difference is the less formal footing, which helps the mentor to break off the relationship when he tires of his student's lack of focus and responsibility and of his habitual chasing of shiny objects.

Casey's mentors have included Local Rich Dad, Duane LeGate, the elusive East Coast Mentor and, for one brief but glorious half-hour, Robert Kiyosaki. Casey is currently mentorless.
