An opportunity is generally defined as a chance for progress or advancement.

The term has been used by Casey Serin to describe enticing gold nuggets that arrive in his e-mail inbox, most of which are likely scams that would ultimately cause Serin to lose even more money that he can't afford to lose at this point. Serin generally sees these scams as chances to chase the next shiny object, regardless of how outlandishly unrealistic they sound. What few e-mails Serin receives that would prove to be legitimate opportunities are generally ignored by Serin, as legitimate opportunities usually don't promise as much passive income as scam opportunities.
