A real estate guru is an entrepreneur who has discovered that it is vastly more profitable to talk about real estate than deal in it.

When analysing the real estate market, many real estate gurus like to propogate the concept of the "Camel Curve" (see image). There are several possible interpretations of this:
- it represents a pair of motherly breasts which will nurture the budding real estate investor;
- it is a metaphorical depiction of a camel (which is neither a type of fish nor a dromedary), the curves representing the number of times a budding real estate investor will be humped by the market before he or she gives up and starts living in a car;
- it represents a camel, which are desert animals, who store surplus nourishment in their humps, and Phoenix (AZ) is pretty much surrounded by desert, which implies there is a great deal of reserve equity in the Phoenix real estate market
