June 17th 2007: in this post on IAFF, the walls start closing in on Casey.

Casey is feeling the pressure of the "World's Most Hated Blogger" label, and recounts some misfortunes:

  1. Sweet Google AdSense account banned. Again.
  2. Sweet $43,000 corporate credit line denied. "There was nothing shady, as far as I know. I think they just didn’t like how anxious I was in trying to get my hands on it." He also reports that he has "lost my guarantor." Another enabler finally sees the light.
  3. Waah, waah, you're all treating me like a child! "Seriously people. Let a person do his thang!" Casey defends his decision to sell his story, but notes that "it takes time, focus and leverage."

He trolls a few more sightseeing photos onto Flickr -- what exactly is Casey doing besides sightseeing? -- and closes, as usual for recent posts, on a note dripping with self-pity:

Yeah I know, I look sad. Being hated by the world is not easy. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in on me. Must keep going though.

[edit] Comments

Commenter Mister B comprehensively demolishes the trolling:

Focus? Able Buyer, the casino, Finch Properties, the Utah trip, the Utah wrap, the gold stocks, the apartment complexes, the corporation, Duane, RK, the Phoenix ladies, Tahoe, the Phoenix trip, Mark, “G” from Utah, the rent money, taking out the garbage, early rising, Nigel, going to the foreclosure at the courthouse, the book, the spreadsheet, Australia. You lack it completely.[1]

[edit] Reactions

Rob Dawg reacts angrily to Casey's "nothing shady" line:

Nothing shady? You were going STEAL forty three thousand dollars. Nothing shady? And that young snowflake is your real problem. You see nothing shady with stealing ANOTHER forty three thousand dollars.[2]

Nigel Swaby completes his series of revelatory posts on the Utah trip by disclosing the real reason Casey and Glenn Snow visited Utah: to chase a 60%-guaranteed-income scam:

Casey's plan was to borrow 100k from his corporate credit through Hammar Investments. With a rate of 2% per month he hoped to gross 5% leaving a net of 3% per month. That would have been $36000 a year in "sweet passive income." Folks, this is the "good things are coming" plan in its entirety. This kid was getting scammed every which way from paying $4000 for corporate credit which has yielded about the same amount back in credit lines to falling for a stupid real estate ponzi scheme.

In a final blaze of glory, Nigel blasts Casey and his enabling supporters:

Casey is not a business man. Casey is a mark. Don't get me wrong, I like Casey. I feel bad for him and his family. As long as people are supporting him financially or emotionally through the blog, he will continue these kinds of shenanigans. He doesn't want to work. He thinks passive income is possible without any work. He's wrong. I ask anyone who still is writing positive things on Casey's blog to stop. Without realizing it, you are enabling him to continue going down the wrong path. For far too long, I was doing the same thing.[3]
