Salt Lake City Real Estate Blog
From CaseyPedia
The Salt Lake City Real Estate Blog is a blog written by Nigel Swaby, who originally described the blog as an "award-winning blog about real estate and financing in the Salt Lake City housing market, written by a licensed mortgage broker and successful real estate investor."
The blog is notorious among the Haterz™ as generating little, if any, interest despite Swaby's claims of the blog being award-winning. Swaby neglected to mention that the award was alternatively either --
- invented by Swaby himself, or
- given to his blog at a local Blog Carnival, in which Swaby was one of the award judges
For more information about Nigel's Carnival-obsession, his blog provides a list of many such activities he has taken time to track. It has not been confirmed that this fixation stems from abandonment at Ringling Brothers as a child. His fascination with being recognized as the world's most renowned Koi owner has resulted in his blog's gigantic following of exactly 2,759 readers. His fans are many, even though his hair folicles are not.
[edit] "Nationally Recognized" Blog
In early June 2007, Swaby removed the "award-winning" claim, in favor of touting the blog as "nationally recognized". This would make SLCRE unique among blogs as the only nationally recognized blog that receives an average of 1 comment every five threads. In an attempt to back up the new claim, Swaby performed a detailed statistical analysis by checking the two computers in his home -- one of them had SLCRE open at the time, so Swaby extrapolated that roughly 50% of the nation was viewing SLCRE at any given time. Ironically, the blog is known (and generally vilified) by Haterz™ who do, in fact, live worldwide in locations across the globe - making it an internationally recognized blog (in much the same way that Osama bin Laden is an internationally recognized terrorist).
Swaby has not commented on why the award his blog supposedly won was taken away.
