Semi-satirical

Wikipedia defines satire as "an artistic form in which human or individual vices, follies, abuses, or shortcomings are held up to censure by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, irony, or other methods, sometimes with an intent to bring about improvement. Although satire is usually witty, and often very funny, the purpose of satire is not primarily humor but criticism of an event, an individual or a group in a clever manner."[1]

CaseyPedia takes a semi-satirical editorial viewpoint on its subject Casey Serin. Its stance is one of robust criticism of Serin's activities, leavened by the humor inherent in Serin's increasingly bizarre story. The phrase is itself a satirical take on Serin's "semi-vegan" lifestyle.

Wherever possible, CaseyPedia's satire and parody is supported by documented sources, either from Serin's own statements or from media coverage of Serin. CaseyPedia also maintains some source material on Serin, such as transcripts of audio broadcasts.

Satire and parody are considered protected uses under the fair use doctrine, as are criticism and commentary.

CaseyPedia's stated aim is to become "the leading semi-satirical wiki about foreclosure blogs". Current Google rankings suggest that it is well on its way.[2]
