Taking out the trash
From CaseyPedia
Taking out the trash is a valuable adjunct or alternative to cash rent in securing office space for aspiring real-estate investors.
Casey took this creative approach to extend his mooching area in Yulia's house:
- I negotiated one of the rooms in our house as my own exclusive office space. In exchange I will be paying an extra $50 rent [to] my sister-in-law and will take on the duty of rolling out the trash every Wednesday morning.[1]
Queried by Nacho on an IAFF talkcast, Casey claimed moderate success in bird-dogging trash-removal opportunities:
- With the trash, I’ve been okay. I’d say about 75% success. There’s been a couple of times I’ve seen the trash truck on its way and I’m running out the door to try to get the trash can out, and there were once or twice when I missed it. But I’m doing pretty good, I think.[2][3]
