- Nice find by Benoit, but do we want to be careful naming names here? The Martin Chambers / Marty similarity may just be coincidence. (Note Galina's email, quoted by Duane, suggests that the publisher is a different person to the guy harboring Casey: Someone from the blog offered to let Casey come and stay at his (a 27yr old guy with his fiancé) house with free rent and food. http://exurbannation.blogspot.com/2007/06/duane-legate-part-42-sucked-dry.html --Lawnmower man 22:51, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- Thanks... I'm all for rampant speculation. The Martin comment was just so bizarre and apropos to the current situation ("Run away to Australia..." ?!). The other comment I posted at EN was about this IAFF comment. Clicking on the guy's handle leads to a blog where the person mentions they work in real estate (in Australia). If Casey is really being sheltered by Australian "fans", it stands to reason that they posted to the blog in the past. "Nigel's Guest Blogger" also posted about another Australian comment in the same EN thread. I'd seriously bet that at least one of these three are involved, if they're not overlapping to begin with... -- Benoit™ 22:58, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- Rob's "email traceback" (huh?) locates Casey in Sydney -- does that help at all? --Lawnmower man 23:18, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- I don't know what specific e-mail Rob's talking about, but I'm guessing that Casey sent Duane an e-mail purportedly from Australia. Rob then viewed the full headers, and ran the IP address through a geographical IP locator, which turned up that the e-mail was in fact sent from Sydney. A search of "Sydney" on IAFF yields nothing. And my public records snooping ability is sadly limited to the United States. Need to find slightly more information on Mr. Stewart to get his birthday... the full name is very common. A WHOIS on pagedaddy.com yields a DomainsByProxy registration (i.e. anonymous unless subpoena'ed), but a WHOIS on pagedaddy.net yields a gibberish address in Los Angeles, CA. Still, there are almost 30 Martin Stewarts in California alone. I'm downloading the MP3's as we speak ... Sweet Jebus, I'm almost salivating over who's going to call into the talkcast tonight. -- Benoit™ 23:28, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- I wondered about the .com/.net thing too -- are they related? the pagedaddy.net whois lists pagedaddy.com domain servers. also that wierd goo@bachelormedia.com tech contact, but www.bachelormedia.com has nothing interesting on it and its whois shows another DomainsByProxy job. --Lawnmower man 23:37, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- Damn, the MP3 "hidden site" just died, I managed to nab the first two files only. At least one person on EN claimed to have them all, plus I'd assume Rob has them as well. Regarding COM vs. NET, they're definitely related. NET stored the hidden Marty crap, and COM is his official site. Even better, ORG yields the same page! :-D -- Benoit™ 23:39, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
