A look at the History tab would show who wrote those comments -- my signed addition was merely a followup. But no matterA

Something I've been meaning to raise, based on the current Google search results: is there anything we -- and by we I probably mean the mursemaster -- can do to have Google *not* index the Talk pages? --Lawnmower man 16:02, 3 July 2007 (CEST)

my Power Team spent a feverish five minutes working on that earlier today, and now all Talk pages are only visible to logged-in users. (Though this doesn't seem to work for pages like this one). --NoDebtWhatSoEver™ 16:33, 3 July 2007 (CEST)
I'm not seeing it -- I tried logging out and looking at Talk:Main Page and Talk:Paradigm and both were visible. I see a "you must be logged in to view this page" on Talk:Sharky Laguana even when I am logged in. --Lawnmower man 18:29, 3 July 2007 (CEST)
hmm, that seems to be a problem. I've reverted to the original behavior for the moment. --NoDebtWhatSoEver™ 09:43, 4 July 2007 (CEST)
Are you using MediaWiki? I found this, might be useful? Here's more on it, as well as links to other patches: MediaWiki manual. --NotAnOptimist 03:27, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
Also, just a wild azz guess, but sometimes pages persist in your local cache, so might try clearing local browser cache, too. -- Soemdood 04:48, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
it's slightly tricker, because mediawiki does some internal caching, and the forward-facing squid does too, of course; the solution is to completely switch off caching for pages in Talk namespace, otherwise the next requester sees what the previous one did. Thought I had it licked, but there seems to be more to it. I'll try and have another look later, but my head feels like the inside of KC's murse (up untill the wee hours debugging a client installation in a different timezone) so it'll have to wait.--NoDebtWhatSoEver™ 09:51, 6 July 2007 (CEST)
