A talkcast or talkathon™ is a live call-in "Internet radio show" hosted on a website like TalkShoe. People may listen to a streaming feed online, or call in and participate in the discussion. The first Casey-related talkcasts were hosted by Casey Serin. Once Casey shut down IAFF, however, a Haterz™-cast was started and hosted by CHJTS. Later, Nigel hosted his own Haterz™-cast, eventually renaming it KoiCast.

[edit] Foreclosure Fridays Live Talkcast

In his talkcasts, named Foreclosure Fridays Live, Serin attempts to defend his actions to a largely hostile public. Some of the Haterz™ who have taken advantage of this include Benoit™, CHJTS, Duane LeGate and 'T' (calling under her cat's name Nacho), as well as C-Net's political correspondent Declan McCullagh.

Note that Talkcasts actually generate a small amount of sweet passive income for Casey. According to the site FAQ:
"When a host creates Talkcast episodes, they earn $5.00 for the first 10 episodes plus up to $4.00 (depending upon episode length) for every 100 times your Talkcast episodes are consumed (listened to, downloaded or subscribed to the podcast. In addition, if anyone refers a host, the referrer earns and additional 25% of that host's total earnings for a period of one (1) year from date of referral."[1]

These intimate Q&A sessions have proven revealing to both haterz and district attorneys alike:

Casey: Well, okay. There's a little bit of a window, as a lot of people are realizing, you can actually buy a bunch of homes all at once, and using different lenders -- again, and I'm not proud of it -- but there's loopholes in the law. Or not in the law, in the system. And yeah, you can buy a bunch of homes owner-occupied if you're doing them all at the same time. And again, I'm not proud of it, I shouldn't have done it that--
FlyingMonkeyWarrior: So what you're saying is -- wait a minute, wait a minute. What you're saying is: because you did them all at the same time, nobody could double-check, so everybody in all eight neighborhoods thought that you were owner-occupied. But if you had done it, you know, over a period of a few years--
Casey: Yeah, exactly.

There have been a number of talkcasts held by Serin thus far:

December 6th, 2006
Serin interviewed Jerome Mayne, a felon convicted of mortgage fraud. The most infamous part of this talk was when Mayne advised Serin to turn himself into the FBI, to which Casey responded with stunned silence.[2][3]
March 21st, 2007
Serin takes calls from a number of his blog's readers for two hours.[4][5][6]
March 31st, 2007
Serin is grilled by Nacho for over an hour, as part of a $250 sweet deal previously arranged between Serin, Nacho, and fellow hater Stanley.[7]
May 18th, 2007
Serin takes calls from his blog's readers for three hours. Duane LeGate faces Casey (transcript). Declan McCullagh calls in, but is cut off as time runs out.[8]
Non-Serin-affiliated link to talkcast.
May 25th, 2007 (summary)
A noticeably more hostile talkcast this time, the highlight being a call from Casey's brother Steve (transcript). Duane LeGate also calls in, but is angrily cut off (transcript ).[9][10]
June 1st, 2007 (summary)
A noticeably depressed Serin hosts what he claims will be his final talkcast. Serin hosts from a friend's house and claims his wife doesn't know he's doing this. Serin takes questions from callers for roughly 90 minutes, during which time he vacillates between despair and rage. The talkcast ends with a whimper when Serin signs off with, "keep it sweet, and remember -- it's ALL good." (partial transcript)

The apparent demise of IAFF in late May 2007 prompted CHJTS to start his own Haterz™-cast as an outlet for Haterz™ to discuss the Serin phenomenon.

June 29th, 2007 (summary)
Foreclosure Fridays Live returns. This episode occurs during Serin's jaunt Down Under. (partial transcript)
July 6th, 2007 (summary)
Back in Sacramento, Serin finds that he is unwelcome at home. As a result, he hosts the fraudcast from a cafe with local Haterz™ looking on. (partial transcript)
July 12th, 2007 (summary)
It's all over.
July 20th, 2007 (summary)
Okay, so it's not all over.
July 27th, 2007 (summary)
Still there.

On July 29, after IAFF was closed, all the Foreclosure Fridays talkcasts on TalkShoe were replaced with files that had 15 seconds of silence.
