Talkcast Transcript - Duane LeGate 2
From CaseyPedia
This is a transcript of a segment from the 25th May 2007 Foreclosure Fridays Live talkcast.[1]
Casey Serin is confronted by Duane LeGate. This segment begins approximately 1:44:16 into the talkcast.
CASEY: I'm gonna give Itsmecasey a shot just because he's been waiting for a while, and then we'll go straight to Marty. Sorry Marty if you've had to wait for a long time, but let's give Itsmecasey a shot and see if we can try to keep it for not too long. Go ahead.
DUANE: Hey, Casey.
CASEY: Duane, it is you!
DUANE: (laughs) It is me - how are you?
CASEY: I'm doing all right. What do you think of the talkshow so far?
DUANE: Well, you know, candidly I think the walls are sorta... your brother, your family is not only not supportive, they don't agree with anything that you're doing. It doesn't sound like Galina agrees with anything you're doing, and it sounds like you had a little mini-intervention with Galina's family. It sounds like LossMitPro... I think you finally realized tonight, that's why you tried to cut him off so quick...
CASEY: (laughs)
DUANE: You let him talk for a long time, until he got to the part to where he was talking about how you're still going to have to be responsible for your mortgages. And you were talking to FlyingMonkey a minute ago about, you know, you take responsibility, but I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that you haven't called in your lenders. I just... what are you doing, Casey? You don't have a business, you've got a blog that you sold a little bit of advertising for, it's kind of a novelty, it'll wear off. Your blog is now becoming a blog about advertising. Your traffic's going down...
CASEY: Hey, what about the last two posts? They were very juicy and meaty posts. Of course I'm going to talk about advertising because that's what I'm going through and all this is part of my story, and so it's exciting for people to see that I'm actually making some money. Now here's a question for you. If you mean the best towards me, you have the best intentions at heart, why are you out there violating my privacy with personal e-mails?
DUANE: Casey, sometimes tough love is just that - it's tough love.
CASEY: Tough love? You gonna break someone's trust by showing them tough love and expose to the world personal, private e-mails? It's not that there was a lot of crap in them that people are going to find all this dirt...
DUANE: You're right.
CASEY: It's just the whole fact that you did it. Does that sound like a good thing to do as a businessman? What if your other business and professional associates started exposing your private e-mails? That doesn't sound right to me.
DUANE: Hey, Casey, if I was as out of control as you are, I would want somebody to intervene on my behalf. That's the bottom line.
CASEY: All right, so you intervene by breaking my privacy and the people who are mentioned in the e-mails, you're breaking their privacy. Have you thought about that?
DUANE: Wait, wait, say the last part again?
CASEY: The people you mentioned... that were mentioned in my e-mails that had nothing to do between you and I were also on there, and so you are violating their privacy as well. Look, you have definitely crossed a line.
DUANE: No, no. None whatsoever. No sir.
CASEY: I think a lot of people agree that there was. I'm not the only one.
DUANE: Look, you have definitely got a lot of... (inaudible because Casey talks over him)
CASEY: We used to have trust. I used to have trust and respect for you but when you started doing that I lost all my trust. I just said "Right, I can't trust what I say, anything I send to you might end up in the e-mail, and that's not right". And so I'm going to cut you off. Sorry, Duane, no more.
