Timeline Guy

Timeline Guy is an occasional poster to IAFF known for his hilarious parodies of the Casey Serin saga. He is known for his ironic use of the character, which he generally uses after phrases that Casey himself is known for repeatedly over-using. A typical example:

January 14th - I got a call from the Burdett buyer™ asking if the lender had made their decision on the offer. I was stunned that the Burdett buyer™ had sent me the offer and that it somehow had slipped through my meticulous filing system™. I bluffed my way through the call (I know I shouldn’t have - I’m intending to be ethical™ in business, but I didn’t want to give the impression that I wasn’t being professional™ and that I lacked business prowess™). So I told him I would follow up with the lender and give him a heads up™. [1]

Timeline Guy made his first appearance on IAFF on March 1, 2007. His comments have been collected and organized in a blog managed by an individual identifying himself as The Jaded Developer.

On May 18, 2007, Casey Serin publicly acknowledged the wit of Timeline Guy:

Timeline Guy™… you’re stealing my thunder! Seriously though, you’re one funny guy and very good at what you do. Email me, maybe we can talk about some possibilities.[2]

It is not clear what possibilities Casey is referring to, although his next comment suggests that he may want to invite Timeline Guy to a no-expenses-spared ramen meal.[3]
