Turtle
From CaseyPedia
On July 2nd, 2009, in response to poking from Haterz™ in the comments of Steve's blog, Casey famously compared himself to a turtle and scoffed at everyone else, whom he disparaged as "beavers:"
- Thanks Tom n’ Jerry.
- I think another story to help people reflect on my situation is to think of the beaver and the turtle. They both live on the same river, but they have different attitudes.
- The beaver spends all of his time working and changing the river.
- The turtle, instead, sits on the bank in the sun, and when he enters the river he drifts with it, not fighting it.
- I think some of you beavers need to realize that some of us are turtles.
The beavers wondered how the turtle rationalizes his claim that he will end the season with a far bigger and better beaver dam, lodge, and pond than any beaver, without gnawing down any trees or hauling branches. The turtle only hinted darkly at Secrets They Don't Want You To Know™ and excused himself, as he had some important drifting to do.
[edit] An Exclusive, from Casey.TV
The part of the turtle on the right (through most of this clip; occasionally he's underneath) is played by Casey. Notice the very low water level in the river (caused by the sun) and that "drifting" is less leisurely than the impression he tried to give in his comment.
